TBTM

. . . or, more accurately, a stroll round the sea wall alongside Strood Channel and back as the tide came in:

Yes Julie, saw my old house and a little boat sailing exactly where I used to sail except my sail was not bright red but covered in mud. I do envy you your morning walks, makes me homesick and it's been near sixty odd years since !!

Lindsay - I did, thank you. Most kind. It's even brought me a few hits from new visitors - just when I've posted nothing remotely interesting for weeks and weeks! Anyway, many congrats on being thus honoured!

Gerald - oh dear, sorry to make you homesick! The views from that house are so glorious, I still have a few regrets about not buying it, though they are tempered by dismay at the ever-increasing traffic on that road, plus, of course, there is an awful lot to be said for living this side of the strood!

Afraid I wouldnt want to live there now, guess I'm not a fan of speed boats and traffic jams but I feel I am lucky to have known it as it was.

Gerald - you're right, that stretch of water is very much the preserve of the jet-skiers these days, which is why it was so lovely to see that little boat with the red sails gently pootling around as the tide covered the strood, the traffic stopped and everything went beautifully quiet.
