Sea salt. From ancient times, the estuaries and marshes of Essex have been at the centre of the salt making industry.

ah Juliette some lovely photos of our beautiful island. It was great to finally say hello to you even though I clearly confused you by calling myself by one of my other blogging names!
Teresa!!! It was you!!! Oh my goodness, I'm sooooooo sorry I didn't twig. If you'd said 'it's Teresa' I'd have realised at once: as it was, I was trawling my very bad memory banks for the name you used instead, and feeling rather embarrassed that I didn't remember it. What a fantastic day for the Festival (and another scorcher today) - I had meant to call back at your marquee for a cup of tea but was, I'm afraid, seduced by Mersea beer instead. My daughter loved her bespoke sandwich, which set her up well for her dance performance later. At least I will recognise you next time our paths cross now!
J xx
