And . . .

Thanks to Pauline Rowson for posting some photos of Hayling Island on her blog - here are some of Mersea in return. It's been a beautiful evening, here on the Muddy Island. Low tide, so it was noisy with oystercatchers, curlew and hundreds of little plovers and sandpipers. Dozens of peacock butterflies at the top of the beach, too - were they attracted by the warmth of the sand, or by something else? I've never noticed them there before.
