The end of an era for jazz, for radio and for very British humour. I hope there will be lots of interesting tribute programmes in the days ahead.

I still can't quite believe it. There will be a 45 min tribute on R4 Wednesday at 9, and probably loads more.

There were some fabulous archive snippets of the inimitable and irreplaceable Humph towards the end of the Today programme on R4 this morning.

What on earth will Samantha do now ? I like to imagine her heading off into the Swedish midnight sun with Sven,

I wonder where his memorial tribute or service will be held. Mornington Crescent Station? At the very least, they should put up a plaque.
