Rob - The People's Republic of Mersea? Hmm, nice idea but at the moment I think we're supposed to keep in step with the mainland, so I'll see what I can do to change my misleading timepiece.
Lovoely photos as ever. I am utterly useless with a camera and envy your ability to capture the atmosphere. I have a rare real photo (as opposed to a book image) on my own blog today, but mine is decidedly of the bog standard 'snap' variety.

Catherine - I think your snowy picture is lovely. Reminds me of one of the illustrations in Shirley Hughes' "Lucy and Tom's Christmas".
