Yellow

By way of addendum to the colour disclaimer on my post about the Yellow Jug, it occurred to me late last night that another of my top favourite paintings is a touch on the yellow side, too:

'Le Piano' (1955) by Nicholas de Stael.

Hi Juliet, I love 'Le Piano' too. It remind me of another painting, although I can't put my finger on it.
A bit of 'yellow'trivia...Indian Yellow used to be made by precipitating the urine of cows, force fed on mango leaves. It was banned in the '20s by the Indian government to protect the cows from such an unhealthy diet. I think we all get a bit of this trouble when it's asparagus season don't we? I shall try and post a favourite yellow painting myself when time will allow.
