Instead, here a few more Sorted Books, which I put together during a sleepless hour last night (click on the pics to enlarge).
And please have a look at the links to other people's Sorted Books accumulating in the comments to my original post.
If you haven't had a go at this yet, I can heartily recommend it as a diverting pastime.
It's rather like writing haiku.

You got me at it again, J, just as I was beginning to walk past bookshelves without rearranging them! I've put another one on RD today: http://randomdistractions.blogspot.com/2008/10/more-books-sorted_10.html
These are amazing! I particularly lie the Mermaid and the Drunks one and the one about Edinburgh. I'll have to give it a go myself soon (:
I've come to realize that this part of my brain does not work! This isn't one of my gifts at all. :<) But I do love reading yours and monix'.
Does sorting them help in the reading of them?
I constantly rearrange the books on my shelves but don't seem to get through them any faster.
Damn you for having provided me with yet another reason to wish that I had a badly broken leg and 6 months of enforced bedrest! Love your blog. Will get my digital camera out and start creating piles of books forthwith...
I've tried it with gardening books - it ain't easy as most of them have garden, or gardening in the title.
I will persevere.
